On Easter Saturday at the 'Hop To It' competition at Frankston, T-Keilor Gold set a new club record of 16.181 seconds in the last race of the day, breaking the previous record of 16.217 seconds. April is almost here and it does finally feel like Autumn. Perfect weather for getting out with your dogs. Daylight saving finishes on April 5th with clocks being turned back an hour at 2.00am but there will be no need to worry about getting to classes on time because there are no classes on Sunday April 5th because of the Easter long weekend. Our new April Foundation class will be starting one week earlier than usual on March 29 so the group will not miss a week due to the
March was off to a flying start today with our March Foundation Class attending for the first time. The day was somewhat humid but relieved by a breeze which developed during the morning. It was a busy day for promotions with 4 dogs promoted from class 1 to class 2, 2 dogs promoted from class 2 to class 3 and one very special dog, Peaches, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever promoted to class 4. Our last meeting for the year will be on December 7th with our end of year Fun Day. Fun Days are fantastic because they provide members and their dogs with an opportunity to try a variety of dog sports and activities, such as Tunnelling, Agility and Flyball. We do not run our usual classes on Fun Days. Our sponsors '4Legs' are coming along and bringing free samples of their new range of food, 'Bowlsome', we will have a BBQ for members and presentations of a variety of award
This year the Flyball Nationals are being held in Geelong at the Geelong Showgrounds. The competition is being hosted by the Tassie Flying Paws Dog Club Inc. and will feature 45 teams from all around Australia, specifically Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales, Canberra, South Australia and Victoria. The racing is under cover in a pavilion which is not far from gate 2 and starts at 8.30am on Saturday and 8.00am on Sunday. T'Keilor has 3 teams racing, Gold is in Division 1
