April is almost here and it does finally feel like Autumn. Perfect weather for getting out with your dogs.
Daylight saving finishes on April 5th with clocks being turned back an hour at 2.00am but there will be no need to worry about getting to classes on time because there are no classes on Sunday April 5th because of the Easter long weekend.
Our new April Foundation class will be starting one week earlier than usual on March 29 so the group will not miss a week due to the long Easter weekend.
Our Flyball group are in a busy period at present with 3 current competitions. On March 22nd at the Bunyip Show both teams won their divisions, which was really nice. All the dogs ran well and Flick, Brad's little Border collie trained very well in the ring between the sets of races. There is a Pairs competition, the 'Keysborough Picnic Pairs', (instead of the usual 4 team races) on Sunday March 29th at Frankston Dog Club and another full team competition 'Hop to It' on Easter Saturday, also at Frankston Dog Club.
We are aware of the concerns re the price and availability of petrol at present and will understand if some of our members cannot make it to our Sunday classes. We have club members from a really wide range of suburbs across Melbourne, from past Frankston to Jan Juc past Geelong. Hopefully the situation will resolve very soon. We look forward to seeing you at club when you and your dog can make it.
Pictured is Fung Cha, more informally known as 'Cha' or 'Norman'. Cha is a four year old Australian Kelpie who runs with Simon. Like all Kelpies he likes to think that he has Flyball sorted and that Simon is there for moral support, to fetch ball for him and work out when his next race is.
