On Easter Saturday at the 'Hop To It' competition at Frankston, T-Keilor Gold set a new club record of 16.181 seconds in the last race of the day, breaking the previous record of 16.217 seconds. The T-Keilor flyballers and dogs were Drew and Harry, Rhiannon and Bellatrix, Bree and Lottie and Brad and Jessie. It was a family affair for the dogs with Jessie and Harry being the parents of Bella and Lottie.
Results like this don’t just belong to the dogs in the team. It takes a whole club to build a team capable of running times like 16.181, trainers, box loaders, ball shaggers, line callers, human props, and everyone who puts in the work behind the scenes. A very solid achievement and a great result for the club.
Keilor has had a competitive Flyball team from when Flyball was first established in Melbourne back in the 1990's, and we continue to be very enthusiastic about the sport.
We are currently planning the 2026 Flyball Nationals which will be run in Bendigo in September. Get the latest info re the 2026 Nats on Facebook via 'Flyball Nationals 2026'!
If any of our members are thinking about training their dog for Flyball now is a great time. Winter is a quiet time for competitions and the time to focus on training. To start Flyball training your dog really needs a solid recall, and an enjoyment of balls. Dogs of all shaped and sizes enjoy Flyball, especially the working dog breeds such as Border Collie and Kelpies. Flyball training is held every Sunday commencing at 11.45-12noon.
