Mid Winter...

Thank you Members for the wonderful feedback we received after our June Fun Day. It seems that even though the surface of the reserve was less than ideal due to rain the previous week, everyone enjoyed the morning and the opportunity to try the various dog activities offered. The cake was a hit as were the bags of goodies we distributed. A suitable celebration for our 50th birthday! A huge thank you to our committee and helpers who made the day possible!

We are already approaching the third session of our July Foundation class and looking towards our August Foundation class. A reminder that the new August Foundation Class will start on the first Sunday in August at 9.00am and our July Foundation class will become a part of Class 1 on that day, the class starting at 9.45am.

We are still enduring problems with the surface of the reserve because there is apparently a water leak (on top of the rain we had!) which the council is yet to sort out. The Council is aware of the problems that the surface is causing to all of the groups that use the Reserve and we trust that they are in the process of rectifying it. At present we are endeavouring to run the classes on the dryer areas of the reserve.

Gum boots, or at least waterproof shoes are currently a necessity. (And it is probably best not to bath your dog on a Saturday before training.)

There hasn't been a lot of Flyball training lately, again due to the surface of the reserve. We are looking forward to getting back to training asap. The Flyball group has a competition in early August at Frankston and the Flyball Nationals that our club is running in Bendigo in late September are now just over 2 months off. Drew and his team are doing a lot of work organizing the competition and accompanying complexity. We are also seeking potential helpers for any of the days from the Friday before the comp to the Monday after it has finished. If you are considering helping out over the weekend please let Drew know asap so he can arrange insurance and best use our human resources.  Club members are also very welcome to come up to Bendigo on the weekend of Sept 26 and 27 to support our Flyball team. We would love to see you there.

Pictured are Peter and Ruby trying out Flyball during the Fun Day. (She REALLY enjoyed it!).
